Well I did it. I managed to get round 26.2 miles of London on Sunday under my own steam. I can't say I managed to run all the distance although I was pleased with how I did.
After covering that kind of distance you might expect I would be suffering from sore legs, chaffed thighs or blisters on my feet.
While I have all these they aren't my biggest problem. The thing which has been giving me constant pain since Sunday is sunburn and I blame the BBC......

IT has been a while since my last blog and for that I apologise. I have no excuse other than just generally being neglectful of my writing duties. I haven't been quite as bad when it comes to my training though and I am actually starting to feel confident that come April 26th I will be able to drag myself 26.2 miles around the streets of London.....

I am back in the swing of things. After my slight break from exercise due to a rather nasty infection in my foot I had my first work out last night and loved it.
I went to one of my two regular martial arts classes and spent 90 minutes getting thrown about and generally beaten up and tonight I am subjecting myself to more punishment.....

IT has been 11 days since my last form of exercise. Saying that it almost feels like I am in a confessional. It also makes me feel quite disgusted with myself since I am supposedly meant to be training for the Flora London Marathon....

This week has started off with good intentions but I'm afraid my enthusiasm for exercise has left me unable to do any running so far. On Monday I decided that I would go for a good swim at my local pool. But instead of getting the bus into town I thought I would walk the two and a half miles saving a bit of money and gently warming myself up. This it turned out was a mistake.....

Hello. Did a six mile run last night and managed to complete it in 52 minutes which I thought was ok. It means an average of one mile every eight and a half minutes. I know that by some people's standards that's a bit slow but I'm not entering the Flora London Marathon with any great ambition to get round in a record time....

All car drivers are idiots

Hello again. The last time I blogged I was about to cycle 18 miles home after work. I was a little bit worried about riding on the roads in the dark so had invested in lots of lights and reflective strips - so much so that I described myself as being 'Lit up like a Christmas tree'.....

Hello again. Well I am here sat at my desk with only 45 minutes left until the end of the working day and I am really looking forward to getting out of here. Not because I don't like my job! But because I am cycling home tonight. I live 18 miles away from the office so I thought getting home under my own power would be a decent little work out.....

Hello and welcome to my new blog. I have decided I want to run the Flora London Marathon and thought I would chronicle my ups and downs here on the web for the whole wide world to see.

There have been a few people who have asked me why I want to run 26.2 miles around the roads of London and the only answer I can come up with is as Georgre Mallory said of Everest 'Because it is there'...
