The Turkish HANNSpree Ten Kate Honda rider has catapulted himself to the top of the title standings after leading the Kawasaki of Joan Lascorz across the line with Brit Chaz Davies taking a delighted third.

Eugene Laverty, who went into this weekend leading the series by three points, has slipped to third after retiring his Parkalgar Honda on Lap Six.

The honorary Durham star gave another masterclass in 600cc racing with a solid victory which now leaves him second in the championship and just one point behind Turkey's Kenan Sofuoglu.

Sofuoglu brought his HANNSpree Ten Kate Honda over the line in second place, while Britain's Chaz Davies rode a stunning race to bring his Parkingo Triumph home third.

The Parkalgar Honda rider rode the perfect race to lead HANNSpree Ten Kate's Kenan Sofuoglu over the line, with series leader Joan Lascorz third.

It was a masterclass by Laverty, which saw him take the lead at the first corner by riding around the outside of Sofuoglu and Lascorz who were beating each other up in a bid to be first bike in.

The Irishman put himself back in title contention after crossing the line first ahead of Kawasaki's Joan Lascorz.

HANNSpree Ten Kate Honda rider Kenan Sofuoglu - the man who had dominated the event all weekend with his blistering lap times - was visibly disappointed to come home third.

The Turkish former champion pipped Joan Lascorz across the line after a frantic 20-lap race which saw Eugene Laverty crash out just four laps from the chequered flag.

Third place went to Sofuoglu's Ten Kate Honda team-mate Michele Pirro.
