LUCA Scassa stole the win from Brit rookie Sam Lowes in a dramatic opening World Supersport race.

Scassa's Parkingo Yamaha stormed past Lowes' Parkalgar Honda as they approached the line for what looked certain to be Lowes' win, bringing Broc Parkes with him, and knocking the Lincolnshire star down to third.

And questions will now be being asked as to why three bikes suffered mysterious rear tyre failures in completely separate incidents, two of which could have been contenders for the victory.

FABIEN Foret threw down the gauntlet to his World Supersport rivals after continuing to dominate during the second day of IMS testing at Phillip Island.

Fresh from setting the fastest time during Monday's two sessions at the Australian track, it was business as usual on day two for the Frenchman.

After again topping the timesheets in the first of Tuesday's session, the Hannspree Ten Kate rider proved unbeatable as the second session drew the two-day test to a close, posting the overall best time of 1.33:904mins.

Stu Easton.jpg 'RATBOY' Stuart Easton has been drafted in to replace the injured Broc Parkes at Assen this weekend.

The 24-year-old from Hawick will ride the Paul Bird Motorsport Kawasaki at the famous Dutch circuit.

Parkes, 27, was injured during a test at Snetterton this week, and was today having surgery on a damaged shoulder.
