WSB: Davies out with broken wrist
CHAZ Davies is out of this weekend's World Superbike Championship opening round after shattering his wrist during second qualifying at Phillip Island.
Davies highsided his Parkingo MTC Aprilia RSV4 Factory machine at Turn Two of the Australian track, just moments after securing his place in Superpole.
It is believed he suffered a broken left radius in the crash, and immediately withdrew from further proceedings.
The 2011 World Supersport champ had been due to make his and the team's WSB debut this weekend, but will now have to wait until Round Two at Imola in April.
The injury blow adds Davies to the list of riders who have already fallen victim to the infamous Phillip Island track this year, with a roll call which includes Eugene Laverty, Leon Haslam, David Salom and Josh Brookes.
