BSB: Evo's Bazza looking for help to stay on track
THE region's newest arrival in the British Superbike paddock has revealed he has one plan for this season - to win the Mirror.co.uk BSB Evo Championship in his first attempt.
Barry Burrell - aka Bazza - of Bishop Auckland, County Durham, is now seeking help with sponsors as he bids to take the title this season.
With the season now at the half-way point, the Buildbase BMW pilot has revealed to Burning Rubber that he is still seeking sponsors to help him finish the season.
"I want a good ride next year, and one that isn't going to cost me money and the only way I can do that is to win this year," he said
"But the money side is starting to cause me a headache because this is such an expensive sport."
A regular figure in the Sunday Sun and our sister paper The Journal thanks to his string of podiums this year, the former European Superstock 600 and 1000 rider is now searching for futher sponsors - and says they don't have to be from multi-million pound firms to help.
"Even just maintaining a motorhome and paying the diesel to get around the country takes its toll, and this is where some great riders often fall. I don't want to be one of them.
"Every little thing helps, and even if someone can give me a hand with diesel or anything, it would certainly make it easier to concentrate on my racing without the added worry of how I'm going to get to the next race.
"I believe I have got what it takes to be at the front race in, race out, and this is the time to prove it."
Bazza is keen to hear from any firms or individuals who can help. He can be reached on 07595 159348 or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
