BSB: It's Gowla versus Burrell as local boys dice it out in Evo

BSB_SAT_GOWLAND_FULL_THROTTLE_IMAGING_300.jpgNORTH boys Graeme Gowland and Barry Burrell are looking good for a great potential battle in tomorrow's two Mirror.co.uk BSB-Evo races at Thruxton.

Gowland of Allendale, Northumberland, arrived back with the WFR Honda squad this weekend after missing the first three rounds after breaking his wrist in the first race of the year at Brands Hatch.

And now he is keen to make up for lost time, and has been a consistent top three Evo runner since he jumped back on board yesterday morning.

Burrell, meanwhile, is looking to build on the two podiums he has already achieved so far this year.

Gowland - aka Gowla - has qualified second in Evo behind team-mate Glen Richards and 17th overall, while Burrell will line up fifth Evo.

But for most of today's free practice, the pair were stuck together like glue on the timesheets, with both of them trading places for the duration of the session..#77_Barry_Burrel_2__-_300px.jpg

Gowland and the WFR package are fast and pretty unstoppable, but Burrell, riding the Buildbase BMW Motorrad bike, has already proved he is more of a raceday rider, and can overcome even the lowliest qualifying positions to make it up to the top three

Whatever happens, it all points to a great battle tomorrow, and it's brilliant to see two young local riders capable of bringing the region success in such a hard-fought class as BSB Evo.
