Get me to the wedding - on a bus!
Presenting for your television entertainment....
It's classy, it's sophisticated, it's stylish.
It's not Brides on a Bus.
This column usually looks at programmes after they have been broadcast.
But, for once, the finger is off the rewind button and presses fast-forward instead.
Next week, on satellite channel Wedding TV, is a programme that's more fizzy pop than Champagne.
The title gives a clue.
Ten brides compete for the chance to win a wedding in gruesome Gretna Green.
They travel from Lands End to the Scottish town - famous for runaway couples marrying on the cheap - on a double decker bus.
On the way they have to face various challenges until only one is left.
Classy, it is not.
But you ain't seen nothing yet.
Acting as conductor is that man of sophistication and manners - David Van Day.
Who? Ex Dollar. Ex Bucks Fizz. Ex I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out Of here. Has a reputation for rubbing people the wrong way.
Even the voiceover says he's the cheesiest man on TV.
THAT David Van Day.
In the opening episode we have a couple of gags about punching their tickets as the brides boarded the Number 266.
And he comes up with the worst catchline in TV history with "May the best bride wed."
But, to be honest, he's not as obnoxious as he could be on the evidence of the review copy Wedding TV sent me.
In fact, he comes across as fairly supportive.
First episodes are difficult to judge, especially in a reality series like this, so he might get become more embarrassing as the series goes on.
The show includes Becky Magson from Morpeth, Northumberland, who has been engaged to Sean for ten years.
Quite why they needed Brides on a Bus to take the jump into marriage - potentially - is not explained.
She rescues and cares for guinea pigs who have fallen on hard times so she crosses all the caring sharing boxes.
Future episodes include visits to Cardiff Blues Rugby Club, Costwold Wildlife Park, Blackburn Rovers Football Club, and the nation's top Indian restaurant in Birmingham.
Thinking about it, a bus might be the most appropriate way to arrive
