Burns Second at Sachsenring
CHRIS Burns finished second in Race Two of the IDM German Superbike Championship at Sachsenring.
The former MotoGP rider crossed the line P2 onboard the Holzhauer Honda, despite having led for several laps earlier on.
The result marks the Geordie's first podium in just his third race in the competitive German Superbike series, which he joined four weeks ago as a replacement to the injured reigning champ Martin Bauer.
After finishing fourth in this morning's first race, Burns had hoped to go one better and reach the podium in the second.
And for a while it looked as though he would be standing on the top step, after he took the lead on Lap 11.
But in the closing laps he lost out to Gabor Rizmayer's Suzuki, and was forced to settle for second.
