ViSK British Superbike Championship qualifying - By Zoe Burn and Mic Archbold

Don Camier 1 Small.jpgLEON Camier scorched to his second pole of the season at a sun-drenched Donington Park this afternoon.

The Airwaves Yamaha pilot set a blistering time of 1.31.047 around the Leicester track.

Kendal's James Ellison was third quickest, with Howick's Stuart Easton eighth, while Graeme Gowland suffered a high-speed crash earlier in the session.

Championship leader Camier had looked quick all weekend, and was always the man most likely to top the timesheets in the final session of the Swan Combi Roll for Pole qualifying.

And despite a charging Sylvain Guintoli on the Worx Crescent Suzuki, it was the former BSS champion who emerged the fastest overall.

"I'm pleased with that, and it seems like we've got good race pace as well, so this all looks good for tomorrow," he said. "As long as I get a good start in the races, I should be able to get two good results here."

Team-mate Ellison overcame a fall in the second session at Melbourne Loop - a part of the track which claimed more than its fair share of ditchers today - but managed to clamber back on board and back to the pits.Don Ellison 3 Small.jpg

Having also looked strong throughout the earlier sessions, Ellison will join his team-mate on the front row tomorrow, with the MSS Colchester Kawasaki of Simon Andrews lining up fourth.

But it was a bad day for Allendale's Graeme Gowland, who crashed out heavily at Starky's with just three minutes of the second session remaining, bringing out the red flag and halting proceedings for ten minutes.

Don Gowland 1 Small.jpgGowland, who admitted to Burning Rubber just two days ago that he was desperate not to crash this weekend and aggravate the broken collarbone injury from Oulton Park three weeks ago, had been lying in 11th when he fell.
