Camier does it again at Thruxton

Don Camier 2 Small.jpgAIRWAVES Yamaha's Leon Camier made it look easy as he strolled to victory in the second ViSK British Superbike Championship at Thruxton.

And in a carbon copy of Race One, Camier was followed across the line by team-mate James Ellison, as Colin Wright's squad continued it's domination.

But this time around, third place went to HM Plant Honda's Josh Brookes, who did his bit to silence the critics who have turned against him since last weekend's Donington debacle.

Once again, it was Ellison who made the best start, but this time Camier was on the ball, tucking in behind him ahead of Simon Andrews and Stuart Easton.

As the pack rounded Club for the first time, the 28-year-old from Kendal in Cunbria ran wide, allowing Camier to take advantage and edge through.

Here they remained for the rest of the race, with the only challenge coming to Ellison in the final two laps, as Brookes' Honda closed in, although despite his best efforts, he was unable to find a way past.

Brookes had been running eighth in the opening laps, but passed Ian Lowry on the brakes into Club on the fifth lap, and then did the same to team-mate Glen Richards a lap later.

He passed the Worx Crescent Suzuki of Michael Rutter two laps later and then reeled in and passed Simon Andrews four fourth, with Hydrex Honda's Stuart Easton in sight.

It was a run into Club where Brookes was able to make the pass on Easton as the race reached its latter stages, and despite a heroic charge towards Ellison, he was forced to admit defeat and settle for third when the laps simply ran out.
