Superstock 600 - Burns penalised...Update!
JOE Burns will start from 28th on the grid for tomorrow's Metzeler National Superstock 600 race after being hit with a penalty this afternoon.
The 16-year-old had qualified second in his group during this morning's delayed session, which would have left him third overall.
But the youngster was hauled before race stewards this afternoon for a technical infringement with his Splitlath Motorsport Yamaha.
The youngster was handed a penalty which will put him back to 28th spot on the grid for tomorrow's race, and was told he was welcome to appeal, although this would cost upwards of £200.
Burns maintains he has done nothing illegal, and although he'd initially planned to head home as a matter of protest, he has decided to stick around for tomorrow's race to try and grab some points.
