Superstock 600 - Burns penalised...Update!
JOE Burns will start from 28th on the grid for tomorrow's Metzeler National Superstock 600 race after being hit with a penalty this afternoon.
The 16-year-old had qualified second in his group during this morning's delayed session, which would have left him third overall.
But the youngster was hauled before race stewards this afternoon for a technical infringement with his Splitlath Motorsport Yamaha.
The youngster was handed a penalty which will put him back to 28th spot on the grid for tomorrow's race, and was told he was welcome to appeal, although this would cost upwards of ã200.
Burns maintains he has done nothing illegal, and although he'd initially planned to head home as a matter of protest, he has decided to stick around for tomorrow's race to try and grab some points.
