Burns and Dickson looking good in Q1
GEORDIE boys Joe Burns and Jonathan Dickson look well placed for Monday's opening race of the Metzeler National Superstock 600 Championship.
Burns, 16 and Dickson, 21, were well within the required top 14 of their respective qualifying groups in Saturday's first session.
Due to the amount of riders and the short Brands Hatch Indy circuit, qualifying and practice has been split into two groups - Burns is in Group A, while Dickson is in B.
Burns, on board his new-look Splitlath Motorsport Yamaha managed to qualify fifth in this afternoon's first session, while Dickson brought his Ian Bell Yamaha machine across the line eighth.
Both riders were hit by today's scattered showers. Burns' session had a few minutes left to run when it began to rain, and this continued as Dickson went out.
It was later announced as a wet session.
Qualifying 2 will be held tomorrow.
