'It's not my fault' - an excuse for losers from all walks of life.

By Robert Weatherall on Feb 6, 09 11:42 AM

IT has been 11 days since my last form of exercise. Saying that it almost feels like I am in a confessional. It also makes me feel quite disgusted with myself since I am supposedly meant to be training for the Flora London Marathon....

But it's not my fault. I know that is an excuse for losers in all walks of life who just don't want to put in the effort to achieve their goals but bear with me for a moment.

As mentioned in my last blog I had to take a break from running because I developed huge blisters on each foot after a walk in ill fitting shoes.

The blisters have gone but I have been laid low with a recurring injury. A couple of years ago I broke my right little toe in two places and also dislocated it.

Ever since then without warning my little toe has been susceptible to infection. (The theory is that the bone never properly healed and every now and then if it receives a knock it breaks again and infects the surrounding tissue.)

That means for the past week my foot has ballooned and I have been unable to get my shoes on. A week's course of antibiotics should clear it up and I will then be back pounding the streets.
