Talking about sustainability

Posted by Tony Hitchens on April 9, 2008 9:00 AM |

I thought I would point you to a powerful video showing one man's thoughts on sustainability and the modern corporation.
But it is not just any man.

What in my view makes this segment of video on YouTube (it is part of the film The Corporation) so powerful is not only the heartfelt delivery but the person who is delivering it.

Ray Anderson is the CEO of Interface, the world's largest carpet manufacturer.

This is not someone who is dreaming about what might be, this is a person in the position to make the changes. And he has not set easy goals, Interface's Mission Zero is "Our promise to eliminate any negative impact our company may have on the environment by the year 2020." You can read more about their sustainability initiative on this website.
Or in Ray's own words "We'll spend the rest of our days harvesting yesteryear's carpets and recycling them... with zero scrap going to the landfill... that's the vision."
