This is pants
Jump up and down and wave someone else's knickers in the air.
Ladette to Lady is back - and it's pants. Or, in the language of the frustrated old broads trying to teach female lager louts how to behave proper, it was young gentlemen's undergarments.
The programme showed a bunch of boozed-up ladettes trying to be prim at an old-fashioned finishing school for upper-clarss ladies.
The results, predictably, did not go according to plan.
The girls were taken to a stately home in the Borders to larn how to eat osyters, play croquet, and enjoy polite conversation with eligable bachelors.
It wasn't long before the grrls had the lads stripped to the waist (and more) for a swim in the river.
One of the boys managed to lose his boxers - next seen being swung by a ladette as if showing off a trophy.
Their tutors were horrified. You waved a Young Gentlemen's Undergarment, stormed one teacher, managing to sound like the end of civilsation was nigh.
It was as if she had never seen a bloke's undies. Actually, come to think of it, she probably hadn't.
None of the staff came across as having seen a bloke's undies and, apart from the confiscated example taken from the ladette responsible for the waving incident, never will.
The teaching staff were too old, too ugly, and too inexperienced in certain matters, if you get my meaning.
One of them, swear to God, must have been the inspiration behind the Medusa legend - one look from her and you'd turn to stone.
ITV1s Ladette to Lady was escapist fun and not to be taken too seriously.
It had the whiff of manipulation about it - for example the staff held a dinner party to teach the ladettes about sensible drinking but left the wine behind when they retired for the night.
It should have come as no surprise when the ladettes, as ladettes do, got sloshed and had a food fight.
Idea for next series: get the old witches drunk and call it Lady to Ladette.
